Day Skipper Theory
 
This course introduces the skills needed to safely navigate and skipper a boat. Throughout the course you will learn aspects of chartwork, ropework, rules of the road and safety. This course provides an excellent pre-requisite before going on to complete the RYA Day Skipper practical certificate

Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Theory
 
                This course picks up where the Day Skipper course left off. It continues to develop the skills needed as your practical experience grows. It is highly recommended if working towards practical qualifications. The emphasis is now on expanding your knowledge base across a range of subjects including chartwork, lights, buoyage, meteorology and rules of the road.

CEVNI
 
                If you intend to cruise the inland waterways of Europe, then you will need to endorse your certificate of competance with the CEVNI exam. This exam ensures you are aware of the signals used within the inland system.
This can now be taken on-line so there is no need to visit the centre. We take your payment details over the phone and then issue you with a unique pass code to the RYA website.
Once registered a practice test is available to see if you are ready for the real thing, and then you are given two attempts at the real test, which consists of two parts each with seven questions. The pass mark is five correct from each section. Part 1: signs and buoyage; Part 2: sound signals, lights and shapes.
